For over 350 years the Royal Society has hosted and organised some of the most important events in the scientific world, which makes us uniquely equipped to ensure your event is a truly memorable occasion. Our aim is to ensure that your event is delivered to the highest standards. Our conferencing team will work with you to plan and manage your event so that you can be confident that your event will run smoothly and that your guests will have an enjoyable experience.
The Royal Society is situated in an ideal, beautiful, historic location for venue hire in central London overlooking the Mall and St James’s Park in Westminster and close to many transport links.
With 12 rooms available for venue hire, our central London location is ideal for hosting conferences, board meetings, training events, seminars, lectures, receptions, and dinners. We can accommodate events for between 10 to 500 guests.
Each of our elegant meeting rooms has natural daylight, air conditioning and WiFi. All venue hire space in the Royal Society is equipped with modern AV equipment and there is an on-site team to provide technical support if you need it.

The Royal Society has embarked on a programme to understand and reduce its own environmental impact, across the full range of its activities, including our venue hire and conferencing services. This will include an initial baseline study of the impacts of the Society’s operations and a strategy and plan for reducing those impacts. In an initial assessment, we have been awarded ‘Silver’ status in the Greengage EcoSmart Hotels and Venues scheme. We are now working towards the Platinum award.
The Royal Society is fully accessible for disabled guests. There is a wheelchair lift to access the reception area, with two lifts within the building to access the other floors.
