The largest event space, the John Hope Gateway is one of Scotland’s most sustainable buildings with views over the biodiversity garden and beautifully managed landscapes close to the West Gate entrance. Capacity for up to 250 people for a seated dinner or 350 for a reception and have access to the decking during the summer months.
The Caledonian Hall, built originally as the herbarium is a charming Victorian building with a sophisticated, elegant and relaxed air – perfect for hosting the most special of events and meetings. To further enhance your event there is access to the patio area with outdoor furniture, the fully sited year round Pavilion for reception or break out space and all nestled amongst the rock garden and waterfall. It’s the ideal spot for weddings, social gatherings and off-site meetings whatever the season.
The Terrace Café has recently been refurbished to a high standard and is now available for evening hire for smaller informal events. With capacity for up to 80 people, the Terrace Café has its own patio area and gives access to the most fantastic view of the Edinburgh skyline, an absolute must for those visiting Edinburgh for the first time!
The Lecture Theatre and Conference Room – this state of the art tiered auditorium has seating for up to 240 delegates in a bright space benefitting from natural daylight and set in a quiet area of the Gardens. The Conference Room can be used for catering or breakout space for delegates and is located next door to the auditorium.
