Last weekend I spent 24 hours in Birmingham on the ” Scary Brum” Fam Trip courtesy of  Trident Hospitality.

Having visited the UK’s second most populous city only once before, it was great to have an opportunity to see what Birmingham has to offer.

We started with a backstage tour of the Repertory theatre which included a visit to wardrobe and make up. We finished with a workshop on “scar making” where much fun was had.

The Repertory offers a wide variety of spaces for conferences and events The main theatre known as the House will accommodate 800 and a second theatre, the studio has a capacity of 300.

There are also three additional conference suites, the largest accommodating 200 delegates.

Then it was off to the Town Hall, Birmingham’s most iconic historic building for a tour led by one of the very knowledgeable volunteer guides. A few ghost stories were thrown in for good measure!

Town Hall has been a hub of civic and cultural life in Birmingham for 180 years. It has a capacity of 900 in theatre style and 350 for a banquet , With it’s long and illustrious history your guests will join the ranks of visitors such as Charles Dickens, Joseph Chamberlain, David Bowie and the Rolling Stones!

On Sunday morning, after popping into IET Austin Court for breakfast, our last stop was Symphony Hall. With it’s world class acoustics and stunning auditorium it is the venue of choice for large party political conferences, exhibitions, AGM’s and weddings.

Symphony Hall is designed to look as good as it sounds! You will impress delegates with this warm luxurious space full of classical curves, polished surfaces, columns and tiers.

Heading back to New Street station I realised just how much I’d seen and learned about Birmingham all in the space of 24 hours!
