IET Venues, the premier family of venues across the UK has released the first images of its global headquarters, IET London: Savoy Place, which is half-way through a multi-million pound refurbishment.

The venue, due to reopen in autumn 2015, is now open for bookings. Significant enhancements are being made throughout the venue, including its flagship event space, the Riverside Suite, which will be increased in capacity by over 25 percent. The venue is also investing in a number of engineering and technology exhibits that will be showcased as visitors enter the building, including a digital chandelier and interactive video wall. There will also be a ‘100 ways engineering has changed the world’ exhibit, which is being voted for by IET members.

Sean Spencer, Venues and Facilities Manager, IET Venues, said: “This refurbishment is the biggest transformation Savoy Place has undergone since the 1950s and our vision for the venue is very much being realised. IET London: Savoy Place has become known for its prestige, facilities and commitment to first class customer service and with this overhaul we will be able to continue to please our customers, by delivering a venue that meet their present and future needs.”

IET London: Savoy Place spans across three floors with the top floor will now be given almost in its entirety to an enlarged, improved and redefined Riverside Suite. This will allow delegates to have more options such as custom-staging, lighting, dance floors and mobile bars to accompany their events. The Heritage Library makes a welcome new addition to the first level, with ceiling-to-floor windows and direct access to new riverside balconies – two features that will allow visitors to appreciate stunning views of London’s skyline.
