The development will contain a modern independent building, expected to have 171 guestrooms and 70 branded Residences at Mandarin Oriental.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has declared plans to open its third London hotel, with the planned South Bank site set to open in 2028.

The hotel will view over St Paul’s Cathedral, Mandarin Oriental Bankside is “positioned ideally” to access both the City of London and the West End theatre and shopping districts.

The hotel will be part of the larger Bankside Yards development, which serves to reconnect the space between the Tate Modern and Blackfriars Station and is situated around the historic railway arches that run through the heart of the site.

The property will be developed by an international real estate consortium including Hotel Properties Limited, Native Land Limited and Amcorp Properties Berhad.

The hotel will feature wellness and fitness facilities, including Spa at Mandarin Oriental, which will offer signature wellness therapies and beauty treatments, a 25m lap pool, a spacious fitness centre and invigorating heat and water experiences.

The hotel will also have four culinary outlets, placed on the first floor and the 19^th floor of the building, with views across the city. It will also offer dedicated event spaces, consisting of adaptable function and meeting rooms with a pre-function space, an outdoor terrace and an activity space.

In line with the brand’s consistent commitment to sustainability, the property will benefit from the wider Bankside Yards development plan to be UK’s first operationally fossil fuel-free important mixed-use development.

In addition, the Residences at Mandarin Oriental will provide a “refined living experience in the heart of this vibrant new development”, offering residents access to Mandarin Oriental’s service as well as the hotel facilities. The residences will also include a sky lobby lounge, private roof garden and parking.
