The Empty Space is a unique and custom-built theatre space, housed in an old industrial unit just five minutes from the main studio block at Media City. From inception in December 2016, the venue has developed into a popular performance space, hosting a variety of professional and amateur productions throughout the year (including GM Fringe), college graduate shows, comedy nights, music recitals, showcases, training and rehearsals, as well as being home to Footlights Theatre.
Location
Car – use postcode M50 2GL for sat nav. Turn off South Langworthy Road (opposite Futureskills) onto Kansas Avenue, take the second road on the right and The Empty Space is the second building on the left. There is limited parking directly outside the venue, or on the car park opposite at weekends and evenings.
Metrolink – the closest station is Broadway, head away from the Quays towards South Langworthy Road and follow the driving directions above (five minutes walk).
Bus – numbers 50 and 79 stop on South Langworthy Road close to Kansas Avenue.
Rooms
We have a theatre area a walk through area that can connect to our theatre area or be used to rehearse in. We have a front room with a bar which can also be multifunctional as a rehearsal space. We also have an upstairs space that can be used as a green room/ rehearsal space, As well as a light and sound system including a glitterball.

£100 for an hour.
£320 for 4 hours
£475 for a day.
